“MAP was awarded a design tender by the Hong Kong MTR Corporation to assist with the Rail Vision 2020 program. This extensive program includes ongoing station and network improvements that incorporate advancing consumer technologies to keep passengers connected and informed as they travel. Stations will incorporate a number of factors which include better use of natural light and other environmentally-friendly design features, reconfigured traffic flows and station spaces, barrier free access for the disabled, and improved visual and audio communication tools and signage
MAP worked in-house to develop designs and details for the revitalization of the existing stations. Mong Kok and Kowloon Tong stations were used as the prototypes for the programme. Materials, ceiling designs, art installations and many other options have been explored with the MTRC design and architectural team.”
