“MAP was invited in late 2016 to tour the South China Sea islands with the Chairman of a Chinese Developer in Guangzhou and Zhuhai.
The Zhuhai islands are located to the South of Hong Kong and Wailingding Island is a 20-minute fast fishing boat ride from Aberdeen.
The brief was to re-vitalise the quarry on the island, converting it to second homes, clubhouse, villas, two international brand hotels, a water front retail district and a marina with new sea walls. There is an iconic rock formation on the site that looks like three figures. To the east is a PLA base with a large gun trained on Lantau Island. The project is now in the feasibility stage of government approvals.”
