“MAP is designing a mixed media apartment complex in the sought after suburb of Cremorne, Melbourne, which sits on the edge of Melbourne’s sports precinct. When built, residents can easily walk to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the holy grail of Australian Sports venues; Flinders Park Tennis Centre, home of the Australian Open Grand Slam event; and the Olympic Park Soccer Stadium.
There are eighteen units in the complex. Simplex units average 550 square feet and duplex units are 1000 square feet. A 24 space car park will use stacker technology. The building has core 10 steel, face brick work and white rendered walls to contrast the natural materials.
Sustainable design features will give the property a six star green energy rating. All units are north facing and have balconies to control the sun in the summer and allow maximum sun penetration in the winter. Fresh air ducts on the south side of the apartments will enable residents to flush out the hot air on summer evenings, reducing the reliance on air conditioning.
The apartments are currently at planning and approval stage.”
